Position: Senior Benefits Specialist

Summary:
This role is a senior level position within the Group Divisions and is responsible to make certain our client's mission is carried out and that the servicing requirements of any assigned account are strictly adhered. This job will require the direct handling of an assigned book of business as well as direct participation in securing new clients. Technical knowledge of Employee Benefits coverages, availability of products, design of programs, client enhancement features, and delivery systems; along with financial literacy, leadership of our client's direction, articulate in speaking and the written word, along with comfort displayed in front of prospects and clients showing them high level capability; is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

New Prospects:
a) Work closely with Producer, Sales Manager, team included, and other leadership to be certain: information is gathered correction, is reviewed and have evaluated current benefit plans, financial data and funding arrangements;
b) Review as appropriate data to be used to market the opportunity;
c) Direct involvement with team of determination if current plan meets the objectives of client and provide recommendations to help secure the proper program;
d) Evaluate and provide insight as necessary for final negotiate rates with carriers and coverage afforded;
e) Work with team on presentation to prospect as appropriate; and
f) Participate in presentations as appropriate


Assigned Accounts:
Maintain Assigned Accounts through:
a) Pro-active management in total of all assigned accounts;
b) Strategy, multi-year planning, and design execution and implementation of benefit plans and account activities;
c) Detailed knowledge and continuous updating of account's business objectives, strategies and issues as well as accounts Human Resources objectives, strategies and issues;
d) Regular contact and communication with the assigned client services representative, team members including producer, insurance marketplace, product marketplace
e) Regularly review of financial information and claims activity with team members being certain the client is communicated with regularly as to how the plan is running;
f)OUR Client's Benefits tools utilization;
g) Provide oversight in the consultation required:
a. to answer administration questions, plan recommendations, discussing regulatory updates, claim reports, assistance with claim issues via Health Advocate and customer service problems with the carriers;
b. to assist accounts with communications to their employees; and
c. other functions required by team members


h) Renewals: Working closely with the Client Specialist to be certain activity occurs around:

i. Initiation, communication and management of the renewal timeline;
ii. Renewal receipt from carriers;
iii. Analysis, negotiation with carriers, and presentation to client and/or Producer;
iv. Marketing;
v. Plan changes; and
vi. Activity required within WorkSmart and BenefitPoint.

Other Duties:
a) Maintain excellent carrier relationships;
b) Learned knowledge and leadership in certain product and distribution options;
c) Regional resource participation as requested; and
d) All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: Must be extremely organized with exceptionally strong math, written and oral communication, as well as technical skills.


EDUCATION and/or
Experience: High School diploma, college degree preferred. Must have at least Ten (10) years' experience in the Employee Benefits Insurance Industry with at least five (5) years' in retail insurance brokerage. Must have excellent client facing presentation skills and negotiation skills.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess appropriate Life / Health License.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office; Benefit Point and ImageRight a plus

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
