Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the school's general ledger. Working under the direction of the Director of Finance & Administration, CFO, the Accounting Manager conducts, directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the school. The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience. The incumbent is also responsible for preparing annual audit related reports and helps coordinate the school's annual audit.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with non-profit accounting principles and procedures. Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
Ability to effectively direct and supervise.
Knowledge of operating and capital budget concepts.
Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration.
Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Knowledge and ability in the use of a personal computer and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
Knowledge of and complete understanding of the Accounts Payable process.
Knowledge ofEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
