Design Engineer Mechanical Engineer
This position will challenge your product design skills in product development and manufacturability. We are a household name in consumer goods products serving markets across a broad generational spectrum. This strategy provides stability and consistent growth as well as profitability because every household uses one or more of our products. You will be involved in plastics design for high volume products that are injection molded as well as blow molded. Additional products include non-woven products. Key skills include 3D design (Pro E or SolidWorks) in addition to practical knowledge of FEA and knowledge of stress/strain analysis.
Location Shelton CT - relocation assistance provided
Salary $80k - flexible
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
Work within a global technical team in the development of products and/or processes. Participate as a member of the cross-functional project team(s) and at times be asked to lead the team.
: Perform design/analysis and support development of new/existing products and processes.
: Generate engineering product specifications and help develop test methods to verify product requirements and support validations.
: Generate concepts and detail designs of innovative, viable products. Designs must be robust and support the full range of manufacturing strategies dictated by program contracts.
: Coordinate and conduct comprehensive design reviews and related activities involving internal/external stakeholders as required.
: Work on cross-functional teams during the injection mold tooling debug phase, including the evaluation of dimensional data, to ensure design functionality is maintained.
Qualifications:
: BS degree in related Engineering field with 5 years minimum of related experience
: Strong knowledge of Pro/Engineer or equivalent software package (SolidWorks etc.). Working knowledge/usage of FEA.
: Good knowledge of stress/strain analysis and an applied knowledge of plastics
Qualifications:
: Proven problem solving skills with good mechanical aptitude
: Working knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA processes
This position will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development for injection molded & some blow molded consumer products under the direction of an Engineering Project Manager. The candidate will work closely with colleagues from Tooling, Automation, Quality, Industrial Design, Packaging, Programs, and Manufacturing. You will also interact with colleagues from our International locations and Commercial Team.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
