A Closer prepares compliant mortgage closing documents ensuring all essential information is accurate, solves all closing issues with timely delivery to the settlement agents.

As a Closing Associate you will:
Prepare reviews and generate closing documents according to client specification and department standards
Review and approve final HUD's
Resolve closing issues and expedite changed/corrected documents to facilitate scheduled closings
Directly assist, support, and communicate with other closing department members and Total Mortgage staff
As a Senior Closing Associate you will:
Perform all of the above responsibilities for Closing Associate with limited supervision
Provide support and mentoring to less experienced Closing Associates
Assist in the training of a new procedure or policy when implemented
Act as a backup for the Manager in their absence
Help maintain a positive working environment within the team
Communicates suggestions to management for enhancements and insures proper handling and follow-up
Be expected to work additional hours if necessary, at times on a daily basis with short notice, at management's discretion
Be expected to meet daily minimum expectations for the position - prepare 5-6 closing packages per day
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
High School / GED required; BS preferred - Accounting, Paralegal, Business Administration
Paralegal experience/knowledge needed. Paralegal certificate preferred.
1 - 3 years loan operations experience or training, 5 years minimum for senior position
Ability to manage flow of files, properly handle time sensitive documents, and to work independently, handling basic problem resolution as necessary
Excellent computer skills including MS Office applications

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
